Gentlemen are to wear white shirts, tie, dress slacks and dress shoes. Platform and high-heels are not permitted – these styles are unsafe on the steps. No student may wear flip-flops, thongs, tennis shoes or boat shoes. It is recommended that the graduation ceremony shoes be worn to graduation practice.

Caps & Gowns -Seniors must wear a year 2016 cap and gown to participate in the graduation ceremony. Styles from previous graduation years will not match. You must write your name on the inside of the cap in permanent marker.

Graduation Tickets -Tickets to the graduation ceremony will be distributed during the Senior’s final graduation practice. Each student will receive a predetermined number of tickets to the ceremony, unless a request for more has been granted.

Accessible Seating / Parking – Seating for people with special needs is available in specially marked sections of the arena. Please consult an usher for assistance. Handicapped parking permits are available. If special accommodations are required, please contact Mrs Eutsler at beutsler@aacps.org.

Diploma Distribution – Senior will receive their diploma cover when they walk across the stage. After the ceremony, all students will recess to the tunnel at the back of the arena and report to the appropriate alpha-ordered table. Seniors must present a graduation cap with their name written inside to get their diploma.

Video Recording of the Event – The ceremony will be recorded. Order forms will be provided to students inside the envelope with the diploma.

Photography during the Event -A photographer has been contracted to take each graduate’s picture as they receive their diploma. No one else will be permitted to stand near the stage or on the floor of the arena to take pictures during the ceremony. Mr Myers will be happy to pose with the student after the ceremony is over.

Obligations – All obligations must be cleared by the last Wednesday in May before graduation tickets can be obtained. This includes the return of all textbooks, library/classroom materials, athletic equipment/locks and payment of outstanding fund-raising money, library fines, and other financial obligations.

Graduation Tickets – Each Senior will receive a total of 6 tickets to the graduation ceremony.  Children under the age of 2, who can sit on the lap of a parent, do not need a ticket.

Extra Tickets – There is NO PROCESS for requesting extra tickets in advance.  If any extra tickets do become available, students will be invited to line up at the end of graduation practice to receive ONE extra ticket.  If more are needed, students may wish to repeat the process for an additional ticket.  The line will continue until all extra tickets are gone.

IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT STUDENTS ATTEMPT TO GET EXTRA TICKETS FROM PEERS.  THERE IS NO PROMISE OF EXTRA TICKET AVAILABILITY FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE.
