Sharing One Language: Sport
Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. Teams are constructed in such a way as to provide training and competition opportunities that meaningfully challenge and involve all athletes.
South River High School Unified Sports
Teams are co-ed, split evenly between students with disabilities and without, follow established rules and guidelines for each sport with modifications that ensure the success and participation of all players, and provide competition and cooperation with other schools across the county, just like other high school athletic teams.
Requirements for participation include parent permission and a medical examination. Forms are available on the Athletics Department page (Click HERE).
